THE LAWS OF CHANGE
You've started, ...but can you finish? ...In time? ...And make money? Here Dr. Eddie Obeng considers the challenges in implementing strategic change. Many of the organisations I work with are actively pursuing literally the same set of projects and initiatives, often with the same names. Everyone has a Y2K or Year 2000 project. Most are implementing a standard financial or accounting package across their organisation, usually SAP. Almost every one has a Phoenix, Beyond 2000, Human Resource 2000, Business transformation, Performance management, Balanced scorecard or Value based management introduction. And they all seem to have a Beyond re-engineering, Time to market reduction, Logistics or supply chain Pan-European structure initiative. But if we are all doing the same things at roughly the same time what is the advantage? Or is it only a fear of being left behind? |
